Are you looking for Easter cake ideas this year? Well last year, on Easter Day, I made a really fun Easter cake with colored layers and decorated it with Easter goodies. It was a HUGE hit! The kids loved it and it was pretty easy to make so I wanted to share the simple Easter cake recipe with you.
Easter Cake Recipe
We were celebrating a birthday and Easter so you’ll see candles on my cake above – you can skip those. Take any box mix and follow the directions for a round 3 layer cake. Separate the batter mix into 3 separate bowls and add food coloring to the desired color has been achieved. Pour your batter into your pan (according to the box mix directions being sure to grease your pan or using Reynolds Parchment paper.
Once your cake is finished baking according to directions stack the layers and ice the cake. Now take your marshmallow peeps and line the outside of the entire cake with peeeps. Now cover the top in Easter robin eggs candies (these things are my favorite – YUM)
It’s really that simple. It only took me an additional 5 minutes to turn this box mix cake into a delicious and colorful Easter Cake.
If you want to turn your box mix into a gourmet cake mix then follow this recipe.
