Are you looking for some fun and unique 4th of July dessert recipes? I have just the thing and they’re very inexpensive, they’re fun and delicious! I make these every year with my 5 year old and she loves them. It’s a knock off from a traditional apple pie but just as tasty – I promise!
Try my marshmallow and tortilla dessert kabobs! Now, last5 year I skipped the marshmallows and just made all apple pie kabobs but if you think you’re crown would like the marshmallows in between then by all means add them. They’re really fun and a delicious treat! Plus, these are super easy to make with kids! Not a marshmallow fan? Skip the marshmallows and just make the fried tortillas 😉 Pin it for inspiration! (PINTEREST) of course! ☺
4th of July Dessert Kabobs recipe:
Just buy large marshmallows (Kraft is what I used and I prefer) and dip each end very quickly in water then dip in colored sugar! Its so easy and fun to do!
4th of July fried tortillas recipe:
ingredients:
tortillas
pie filling (Lucky Leaf is great, plus they have a no sugar added option!)
Oil (coconut is best for you)
Colored Sugar or sprinkles (to dip the ends)
- Spoon Apples (or any pie filling) onto your tortilla
- Roll Up and fry in hot oil, turning once (to cook both sides) – This is just a matter of seconds before you flip them once and remove them from the frying grease (I like to use coconut oil)
- Remove, drain
- After tortilla is cooled, very quickly dip ends in water or milk FAST and then into sprinkles or colored sugar to make them festive and patriotic
- Top with powdered sugar in the middle or slice for kabobs on a stick for a party treat like you see my daughter eating at our 4th of July cook-out!
These taste very similar to apple pie and are a big hit!
