Well getting out with other moms and being around other families helps us stay grounded. It’s always funny to hear when another mom has the exact same problem with her kids. I was attending a Christmas part a few weeks ago and we were all laughing and comparing notes about kids pitching clean folded clothes in the hamper for rewashing as they “clean” their rooms. Good to know I wasn’t alone on that one!
Unfortunately, I’ve also been around people in my life that left me feeling not so great about myself. I have one neighbor that I could never put a finger on it but I just knew that when I was around her I didn’t feel happy and joyous. It wasn’t anything specific that she said but maybe an unsaid judgement of me and my family that I was picking up on. I’m not sure but I knew that whenever I was around her I always felt akward and uncomfortable.
Well 2014 is about bringing out the best in each of us and here is my recipe for finding and keeping the right mom friends in your life;
Finding Good Mom Friends –
Just ask yourself 1 simple question:
How do I feel about myself when I’m around that person?
- Awkward – Stay away
- Good – send a note or message letting them know
- Fun & alive – Schedule an outing for your families!
Be all you can be in the presence of those that bring out the BEST IN YOU!
Please feel free to share this on Facebook – I’d be honored and just maybe you’ll be the next one to get a note!
