I’ve been receiving so many e-mails lately on how to “extreme coupon.” Here is a visual to help you get going. Some things to remember;
1) You will need a cheap source of multiple Sunday Coupon Inserts (see video for ideas)
2) Stop at the stores when its convenient and you are passing by – don’t go out of your way to shop (I live in a rural area so I have to travel to get to one of these stores so this 1 is important to me)
3) Roll your $ from week to week so your out of pocket expenses are no more than $5.00 and usually not more than $1.00 (Register Rewards/Jingle Bucks from Walgreens, Extra Care Bucks from CVS, + Up Rewards from Rite Aid)
4) If it’s FREE or a Money Maker then buy it – Even if you don’t need the product start a stockpile. You don’t want to be caught “needing” a product because you’ll then be stuck paying full price. (you can also think about donating the product or items or using them for gift baskets for house warming presents, baby showers etc)
5) Keep a copy of the store coupon policy with you when you shop in case your savings are in question. (You can get the coupon policy on this blog, you can also program the 1-800 customer service number for each store into your phone too – you’ll find these numbers in the “store guides” on this blog)
6) Take advantage of Rebates – See current Rebates here (Frequently Rebates allow coupons so if your goal is to purchase the item/product with a coupon when on sale to buy it for pennies or FREE, then submit for a rebate!)
Couponing in an “extreme” way takes me about 3 hours each week ( I get hundreds of products for FREE). Ask yourself this question, “If you could completely cut out your weekly budget for these products would it be worth spending the time to “extreme coupon?”
(These items should be FREE once you start extreme couponing)
toothpaste
Toothbrush
Shampoo
Conditioner
Dental Floss
Gum (free or less than 20¢ each)
cough drops
lotion
deodorant
bar soap
razors
shower gel
There are many, many other items I’m able to obtain completely FREE (and make money from purchasing) but I just wanted to start a list for you so you had an idea of what you can expect. Happy Couponing!
