Ok so you’re thinking you wanna make some homemade Halloween props but don’t want to spend a fortune, right? Well these milk jug ghosts are great for kids Halloween party ideas. They’re cute, cheap, and super easy to make. Check out my easy to follow tutorial!
Well it started when I saw this Halloween ghost craft made from milk jugs the other day and decided they were pretty neat. Best of all, it uses items already found at home, and re-purposes milk cartons, so it is a totally FREE project! It was super easy to do:
Materials Needed:
- Clean, dry empty milk jug
- Black Sharpie Pen
- Sharp Knife or razor knife
- White Christmas Lights or battery powered tealight candles as a light source or glow sticks (these military grade glow sticks are BEST)
Directions for your homemade Halloween prop milk jug ghosts:
- Remove label from milk jug
- Cut a small hole in the back of the milk jug, large enough for your light source to fit inside.
- Using Sharpie marker, design a spooky face on the milk jug and color it in darkly.
- Light up your ghost with white Christmas lights or battery operated tealights.
* You could also use orange lights and turn the milk jug into a Jack O’Lantern decoration. Lots of ideas! ☺
We did this project in just a few minutes, with my teen son doing the whole project himself. What do you think?
