Who wants to have some SERIOUS educational fun?? Boy, have I got the perfect event for you! A fun Imax movie called Living
in the Age of Airplanes. It is a story about how the airplane has changed the world. Filmed in 18 countries across all 7 continents, it renews our appreciation for one of the most extraordinary and awe-inspiring aspects of the modern world. The documentary is produced and directed by Brian J. Terwilliger (“One Six Right”), narrated by Harrison Ford, and features an original score by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner (“Avatar,” “Titanic”).
- Showing at the National Air and Space Museum: 600 Independence Avenue SW, Washington DC, 20560 – There is no charge to enter this museum however it is in Washington DC so be aware that you’ll need to find parking or take public transportation to the LaFont Plaza exit which is closest. The museum is open 10am until 7:30pm so you can enjoy the education fun there all day before and after the showing!
- Showing at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center: 14390 Air and Space Museum Pkwy., Chantilly, VA 20151, $15 parking fee (grounds of Dulles Airport) Parking fee is good from 9am to 4pm Museum is open until 6:30pm so you can enjoy the education fun there all day before and after the showing!
This movie is supposed to be wonderful! The normal Imax price is $9, I believe, however, if you have just 10 or more people you’re considered a group and can request the group rate of just $6.50!
