If you haven’t heard the exciting news, Medieval Times at Arundel Mills Mall, Baltimore Castle, has changed their tournament and show and it is so much fun!. It was never bad before but my family LOVES going to Medieval times a few times a year and now that they’ve changed up the show a bit it’s even more exciting.
Well I asked the kids what they wanted to do for Daddy’s birthday this year and it was a QUICK unanimous vote to hit Medieval Times!!! I had heard that there was a new show so it was the perfect time to go (not to mention that we love the food too). I was a little surprised to hear that they wanted to go considering we have reservations next month for my son’s 11th birthday but it’s always fun, never boring and within an hours drive from my house. Plus, it seems you can always find coupons for Medieval Times (Baltimore Castle). Being the frugal mom that I am that is always important to me. They’ll give you a free meal for the birthday boy (or girl) and you can also find coupons in the Sunday newspaper coupons or just call and ask about special promotions.
So we always start out with a trip to the bathrooms because my daughter is 5 but even that is fun! At Medieval Times Baltimore Castle even the hand dryers have medieval time images and just before you head into the bathroom it’s all decorated in the time period. There’s a stockade where you can snap pictures with the kids as well as a dungeon entrance. I love how every detail is considered from the employees in costume to the decorations on the wall. It all makes it part of the fun experience.
Once the doors open and you head into the arena you can feel the excitement building. You think you’re just going to sit, eat dinner and watch a show but it’s so much more! Medieval Time is completely interactive – the king and queen speak to the audience, the knights give roses to some of the girls and ladies in each section and you can’t help but start to cheer and scream for your knight! It’s an amazing experience and truly that is what it is… an experience of fun and laughter and cheering.
We loved the new show…. still a classic bad guy and good guys for the queen as well as some awesome horse riding. My kids think booing and cheering during dinner is so much fun and after all, where else can you do that except Medieval Times? My daughter, of course, received the rose from our knight and was just in heaven all evening long! It couldn’t have been a more perfect night for my husband’s birthday and best of all – I didn’t have to clean up or cook! (yes!)
If you’d like to read about more of my Medieval Times stories check back with me next month after my son’s birthday. Stay tuned….. We’re going back next month! ☺
