Well I ran into a friend at my sons dance class and apparently she told me she loved my car reviews. It really is nice to hear an honest opinion from a peer with kids. After all, we mothers are the ones taking care of our next generation and we have greater needs than ever before. Our responsibilities include driving kids to and from schools, appointments, clubs, church and more. When I really sat down and added up all of my driving time with all of my kids, I realized how much time I spend in the car. The car, the gas mileage, the comfort IS IMPORTANT. Come check out my review on this Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE – from one mom to another! ☺
I had the pleasure of test driving 3 different cars. In case you haven’t heard, my husband and I are in the market for a new vehicle. We’re currently driving a Toyota Mini Van. Although the van was perfect for our family years ago, my 2 oldest kids are in college now so we just have 2 left in the home. Most importantly, our needs have changed and the economy has changed. We’re now in need of a more gas efficient vehicle that is still comfortable and can haul the kids around. It seems like my 3rd son is way more busy than the 1st two put together! Plus, my youngest is still in a car seat! That means that I need to be able to get in and out of the vehicle easily. She’s almost 5 so she’s at the point where she opens the car door and jumps in herself but I still come around and make sure she’s clipped in properly.
The Outlander was great. Easy access from all 4 doors and a nice roomy trunk area for my stock up trips at the local grocery store and Walmart or Target. Since I’m in a more rural area I tend to run all of my errands at once which means I still need some space. I don’t need as much as I did previously but enough room to pop in paper towels, toilet tissue, groceries etc. It was no problem with the Outlander – none at all.
The gas mileage was good on the Outlander too. My husband calculated that we got slightly better mileage than listed for the car – 24 city driving and 31 highway. I think he had calculated 32 or 33 on the highway (which is most of our driving).
The comfort level of the car was nice – no stiff necks or back aches for all of the hours we spend driving here to there. The seats were comfy and there were no complaints from anyone. I also thought the design was kind of fun and sporty. Going from a mini van to the Outlander was fun. I’ve always been practical minded so I was concerned mostly with how the car worked for my family needs but I did catch my self jumping in and looking at myself in the rear view mirror with a big smile. It’s a cool car for sure! I didn’t think that much mattered but it was just a nice little added extra perk for a mom. (moms know what I mean Lol)
Thanks Mitsubishi – The Outlander Sport SE comes highly recommended from this mom! Plenty of great features that just make life a little bit easier….. and what mom doesn’t need that, right?
