Well this past weekend I made a post on our new chicken project and I posted a photo of our new chicken house. Being an entrepreneur, I challenge ALL of my children young and old to start a business so they understand money, inventory and marketing with a real world application! My youngest 2 children, ages 2 and 8 decided they wanted to sell chicken eggs in our neighborhood! Go figure but hey…. I told them to pick something! So, we purchased this chicken house and ordered chickens over the internet that were freshly hatched. Who knew that livestock could be delivered through the US postal service! I’m still laughing about it. When I called the post office to inquire they told me I had the option of picking them up in the morning when they arrived or my carrier could deliver them later in the day when she made her mail rounds but that they might sit in a car/mail van all day. So received the call at 7:30am this morning and my husband left for the local Post Office.
I’ll keep you up to date on our chicken adventures and how this all works out. It will be a learning experience for us all! Right now I have to say they are the cutest little things!!!!! What do you think?

We kept chickens years ago before we had our son. Seeing your post, we love the idea so much we are thinking of doing it too. The coup is amazing, is it custom or from plans? You will love having those fresh eggs! Enjoy!
