Pies & Pints Pizzeria, visit West Virginia – On the 2nd day of our River Expeditions adventurous family trip my family of four got hungry and the resort suggested the local hangout Pies and Pints. So, we went with that old saying about if you want good food, to go where the locals go…. And where the locals go in Fayetteville, West Virginia is Pies & Pints Pizzeria.
This roadside restaurant had a nice back deck area with a pretty green view. Since the weather was cooperating we chose to be seated there. The menu has a variety of salads and starters. I chose a nice Caesar salad and some wings to share with the family. The sandwiches on the menu included a Cuban Pulled Pork, a Garden Grinder and then there was the classic Steak and Cheese, again made with fresh ingredients. Then, of course, there are pies! Pizza pies! With ingredients locally sourced, these pies are hand stretched and baked directly on the stone, giving them a crisp and chewy crust. You can order a classic house pie with fresh mozzarella or a white pie. Then it’s up to you to choose from the large list of add-ons to make your pizza pie special! Applewood smoked bacon, shrimp, pulled pork? That’s just a few of the unique toppings! My daughter chose to stick with a regular cheese pizza, my son tried the shrimp and onions and my husband had onions and mushrooms. They came out smelling fabulous and tasted even better. Mmm, fresh, hot, flavorful pizza pies just can’t be beat and these were really great!
Pies & pints also specializes in craft beer and they have many to choose from on the menu. Do you know the difference in an ale and a lager? Just ask! There are lots of lagers and ales on the list as well as a gluten free choice, cider, America’s most popular beverage back in the day, and even German Hefeweizen.
My entire family really enjoyed our meal and we topped it off with the cheesecake dessert…delicious! Then after our meal while my husband and I relaxed, there was a small play area for my young daughter to play on. The locals got it right on this one. Pies & Pints Pizzeria was a great dining spot to try. Good atmosphere, great food and quality service. I highly recommend it the next time you are passing through Fayetville, West Virginia!
