I really liked your ideas. I use my Chinese take out containers (rectangle white plastic with lids) and tie with a red bow for Christmas or Valentines Day cookie gift containers. I use plastic 1 quart sherbert containers to freeze my homemade chicken stock in. I use plastic cookie tubs I get from buying fundraiser cookies for freezing soups, chili, sauces. etc. Altoids tins make great purse containers for a small emergency kit (bandaids, qtips, tweezers, clippers, etc). I even covered a large oatmeal container, and some smaller nuts containers, medicine bottles, and a reused candy cylinder from Christmas with zebra printed contact paper and filled with bobbie pins, hair ties, hair clips, etc. and put all in large decorated oatmeal container for gifts for my nieces for their birthdays. My two daughters often use empty cardboard shoe boxes for school projects, and I also use for Operation Christmas Child. I always try to think of uses for a container before I throw into the recycle bin. I am still using plastic rubbermaid and Tupperware containers I have had for 25+ years. They still work just fine.
