Safeway Coupon Policy

Before you head off to go shopping its always a good idea to go over the Safeway Coupon Policy. So, I thought I would give you a run down of what they will allow and will not allow so you can be your own best advocate for your Safeway savings.

Safeway reserves the right to refuse any coupons at its discretion.

Does Safeway Take Manufacturer Coupons?
Yes! The redemption value will be as stated on the coupon. If the coupon is more then the price then the product, then they will only take off the price of the product. They will NOT give any ovarage back in cash or credit from a coupon. They we will not accept photocopies of coupons. They do not accept coupons unless they have an expiration date. They also will not accept expired coupons.

Can you use a coupon on a FREE item?
No! You can not use a coupon on any free item received in any offer.

Will Safeway take other store coupons?
No! Safeway will not accept manufacturer coupons (including, but not limited to, coupons issued through a Catalina or other in-store coupon dispenser) that display another retailer’s logo or name unless such coupon is for a specific item with the same product identifiers as the product included in our customer’s purchase transaction and is sold and available at the store.

Purchase reward thresholds Before or After Coupon Deductions?
If they are offering a reward after the purchase of a set amount, the amount needs to be calculated after (after deducting Club Card savings and all other discounts and savings) and before deductions for any manufacturer coupons. The manufacturer’s coupon would not be deducted from the total for purposes of determining reward eligibility.

Will they accept Internet Printed Coupons?
Yes! They accept internet printed coupons. The same manufacturer and store coupon rules above.
They also must be capable of scanning at checkout. Printed coupons must have a valid manufacture address on the printed coupon. They will not accept “free product” internet printed manufacturer coupons.

Does Safeway Have Load to Card Club Coupons?
Yes! Safeway has coupons that are electronically loaded to a Safeway Club Card. These coupons are automatically redeemed when you scan your card (if you have bought that item). These coupons are not included in the “double coupon” or other increase in coupon value promotion.

Will Safeway Double Coupons?
Depends! It depends on your store. Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. If you are a local reader our store will double up to $0.99.

Can you stack coupons?
Safeway does not allow a customer to redeem two or more manufacturer coupons against the same item in a single transaction. If you presents two coupons for the same item in a single transaction, Safeway will give the highest discount for that item, subject to the terms of the applicable offer and/or coupon.
