The 25th anniversary tour for STOMP is finally here at one of my favorite theaters in Washington DC and you have to see it! This is a one of a kind unique, high energy foot stomping, leg slapping experience you won’t want to miss. In town at the National Theatre thru Sunday, you’ll find STOMP a vibrating, captivating performance where you’ll laugh, move in your seat, and clap your hands to the beat!
I had the pleasure of experiencing opening night last night and I want families to know that this is definitely a KID FRIENDLY performance and the perfect opportunity to get kids to the theater where you won’t have to ask them to sit quietly and not move! Best for ages 4 and up, you’ll find kids and adults laughing at some of the antics and moving, tapping, and snapping.
This show is invigorating and breaks the norms for rhythm and music by making the most beautiful sounds using brooms, trashcans and all sorts of house hold items. This 8 member highly talented troupe has a fun way of interacting with the audience too….all done in a fun and magical way without ever asking the audience to participate.
They start out sweeping the floor in a rhythmic pattern and then all of a sudden BAM a percussion explosion on the stage that gets you moving in your seat.
STOMP is the created and directed artfully and skillfully by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. Well done, well done!
