Do you wanna watch some football? Super Bowl is the best party of the year but you may not want to spend a fortune on decorations so I have a simple tutorial for you to help get your guests in the spirit of the game! You can make this football banner with simple materials you likely already have in your home – just like I did!
Materials needed to make a football banner for your Super Bowl party;
- brown paper (any kind will do)
- card stock paper (or a used file folder like I used)
- scissors
- string
- green paper (any kind will do)
- white pain (any kind will do)
- small paint brush (or use the corner of a wider one)
Instructions:
I made a template for a football so that all of the footballs on my banner would be exactly the same. You can just sort of cut them out and “eye it” or you can make a simple template like I did. I just used an old file folder. They are card stock so it works well as a template.
Start with your card stock file folder (or paper or cardboard – whatever you like for your template)
Fold in half & draw your half moon shape (like a lemon shape) on one side of the paper
Cut out 1/2
Now fold down to the other side and finish cutting out
Here’s what it looks like when you’re done
Now time to trace your footballs on your brown paper, then cut them out
Time to get out the pains for the “stitching/lace” part on your football. Start with a single line down the center
Now add 1 line at each end (as seen above)
Now fill in the lines in the middle
Last – I made some green triangles to add color and the feeling of the playing field. You can cut these out with scissors or a paper cutter.
I hung my banner on a simple string (any will do) and I used clothes pins. You can use paper clips or staples – any will be fine.
