Are you ready to try some new Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Recipes this year? Well I wanted to post this early so you could give it some thought because this bacon wrapped Thanksgiving Turkey was absolutely delicious and even my kids liked it! That is a big deal to make everything Thanksgiving family friendly because I have some picky eaters in my crew for sure! LOl
So I used about 2 lbs of bacon on this large 24lb Thanksgiving turkey. I rinsed the turkey 1st then I placed it in the pan and began draping the bacon on to the turkey systematically until every portion of the bird was covered. Then bake as usual. Your Thankgsiving turkey comes out very flavorful and moist too!
Be sure to check out my cranberry sausage stuffing – DELICIOUS!
Oh the pumpkin bread pudding is a kit too! ☺

I’m a terrible cook! So I need more details. I have an electric roaster for my turkey. I would like it to cook overnight. So, I will get a 24 pound turkey, put it in the roaster, wrap it in bacon, and need it to be ready by 11am the following day. What time should I turn the roaster on? What temp? And do I need to ‘drip’ anything on it all night??
Please please please advise!

Im wondering how the skin under the bacon comes out? Is it also crispy? My kids Love the skin on the turkey

My friends and I have done this for a couple of years. You do cover it for the first few hours, depends on how large the turkey is. Then take the foil off to crisp up the bacon a bit. Also, you don’t need to do any basting because the bacon will do that for you! Also, I made a compound butter with garlic, rosemary, thyme, and lemon zits to put under the skin first. Then you cook uncovered for like 20 more minutes, take the bacon off, and put the turkey back in to crisp up the skin! And then, you eat the bacon and we used some of it to put in our mashed potatoes as well! Sooooooooo delish!
