TNTDC: A Tech & Travel Event at Willard Hotel
Do you love technology? What about traveling? I love being a blogging mommy who gets to travel and enjoy all the technology life has to offer. This week, I went to Willard International Hotel for a Tech and travel event. I had an amazing time learning about the technology I can utilize while traveling and enjoying a beautiful, historic hotel.
The Willard Hotel is amazing!
The Willard International Hotel is an elegant enchantment filled with old historical truth. Did you know the Willard International Hotel has hosted almost every single president since Franklin Pierce in 1853? With 200 years of history, and a picturesque view of the Washington Monument I was in heaven!
I Was Treated Like Royalty
Not only did I receive the most warm welcome, but I was treated like royalty in every area. Right when I walked in, I was offered complimentary cookies. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceilings; the beds we saw on the hotel tour were fit for a queen with a princess canopy, and words cannot describe the elegance of the whirlpool tub overlooking the monuments! At the event, my place was elegantly saved by a red, white and blue strawberry, a cute chick cookie, a chocolatey drink, and my personal business card.
Technology is Your Best Friend While Traveling
I use technology often, but I never knew how valuable it could actually be. Check out some of these cool technology hacks I learned about!
Preserve Memories: Memories of your travels by yourself or with your family are so important. When it comes to preserving memories, you want them to be the best that they can be. Here are a few ways to preserve your memories with technology:
- The Egg: The Egg is a way to share files on the fly from anywhere in the world. It is a smart device that saves room on your camera or smart phone, so you can capture more memories than ever before.
- Adobe Spark: With the new Adobe Spark, you can upload pictures to create a visual story of your travels.
- Shutterfly: I love Shutterfly and have used it in the past. It is a great way to share your memories in the form of a book. Simply upload pictures and arrange them how you like to create a hardcover memory.
Use Technology Outdoors: Taking pictures and capturing memories outdoors can be a challenge, but with these technological tools, you can get the best out of your outdoor adventures.
- WakaWaka Base 10: With the WakaWaka Base 10, you never have to worry about power again. When the sun goes down and you don’t have power in the wilderness, the WakaWaka Base can power 3 devices at once and power up to 240 hours of light.
- Olloclip: Nothing is worse than taking that perfect picture and realizing it doesn’t look so perfect on the screen. With Olloclip, you can take picturesque pictures that will get you 1,000 likes on FB.
- RICOH Theta S: How cool would it be to capture a 360-degree picture?! Well, with the RICOH Theta S, you can! This is no typical camera. It allows you to explore the pictures and videos up, down, and all around!
Stay Safe: It is important that while you do any traveling that you are prepared for anything and everything. Let’s face it; you never know what could happen, but now you can be prepared for the worst with high performance technology!
