The Choir Ministry of St John the Baptist Church is proud to host The Saint Joseph’s University Singers and Concert Choir in an evening of choral music in the great 19th century edifice of St John the Baptist Church. The program will include three excerpts from the Requiem by Maurice Durufle, The Liebeslieder Waltzesby Johannes Brahms and Bogoroditse Devo, a setting of the “Ave Marie” from the Russian Liturgy, by Sergei Rachmananov, “If Music Be The Food Of Love” by Dickau, Lux Aurumqueby Whitacre and a rousing rendition of Sund’s arrangement of “What Shall We Do With the Drunken Sailor”. The entire audience will also be invited to join in the singing of a few tunes. When was the last time you sang with several hundred people where the song wasn’t “The Star Spangled Banner” or “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”? It’s Manayunk and parking is limited.
