Now you may ask.. Why is Beth doing a post on a Corrugated Fireplace. Well…. When I was around 10 yrs. old I kept telling my parents I wanted a fireplace for Christmas. As a child I was wondering when the walls were going to be knocked down, but day after day everything remained the same. On Christmas morning I woke up to this exact fireplace. It was cardboard, a little shaky (I am guessing because they put it together at 2 am) and had 1 yellow light bulb as a flame, and I LOVED it. It was my favorite gift that year. As a child I thought it was silly but I was also proud of my fireplace. So proud I had to take pictures in front of it. Even today I knew exactly where this picture was in my albums 😉 Being an adult, mother & grandmother I am in awe at my parents imagination & that I got EXACTLY what I asked for :).. What do your kids want for Christmas this year? Will you have to use your imagination and “Think outside of the box” . I just had to post this for you all because I know everyone has their own story and some of you may want a fireplace too! Lol! Happy Holiday! 🙂 I know Maggie is gonna laugh when she see’s this post! We met when I was 12 many many years ago!!!!!
Your parents sound great – most parents I know would just dismiss a request like that as silly! I have a feeling you know how to give great gifts to your children and grandchildren.
