Meet Ollie! He’s a retired standardbred race horse whose captured our hearts and found a home with my daughter! Ollie isn’t the kind of race horse that you typically think of where a jockey would ride on his back – he raced sulky carts. After his long career of high adventure racing Ollie was retired and given to a wonderful woman in the town where we live. After getting him settled in she began to search for a home for Ollie and found my daughter, Samantha. We make special treats for Ollie and spoil him! This is Samantha’s 1st video all on her own showing you How to Make Homemade Horse Treats – DIY Homemade Horse Treats. I hope you have a special horse in your life and if you don’t these are also great as a gift for someone in your life that loves horses too! ☺

Being not only confident, but financially confident is a feeling unlike any other. When my husband, Jeff, and I bought our first house, I truly felt secure for the first time. We had a nest to raise our growing family. I not only felt safe, but excited and optimistic for the future! I’ll be Key Note speaker for the 2nd year in a row at the Mason-Dixon Outdoor Writers Conference on March 11th. This is an amazing group of authors, newspaper columnists, bloggers, and outdoor tv personalities. I’m so honored to support all things outdoor. Did you know that someone once took a scientific survey of adults asking them to recall their most fond memories of childhood and 85% of those adults recalled a memory that took place outside. There’s something out nature that sticks with us and stands the test of time. The smell, the sights, the feel of sitting on a large granite rock overlooking a valley is something that captivates the human spirit, centers it, and returns it back to Mother Earth!

Take a Stand. Be Inspired. Move onUp.
We’re all driven by personal connections. For me, it’s my family and the inspiration I feel to make a difference in their lives – to keep them safe, content, happy, and prepared. This basic principle proves true for companies and organizations too. There is a movement, a growing trend, toward personal responsibility as well as social responsibility on the part of businesses and organizations. It’s no secret, people want to work for and do business with organizations that stand for something, that contribute to society in a meaningful way and help others.
A “purpose-driven” company that recently got my attention is SunTrust Bank and its onUp Movement. They focus on helping Americans just like you and I move past financial stress to gain financial confidence – one step at a time. [Read more…]
