Ready to have some fun and tasty treats for Halloween this year? Be sure to check out my Halloween recipes: Rice Krispy Ghosts! They’re cute, kids love ’em and they’re so, so easy to make very fast. My mom has been making Kelloggs Rice Krispy treats since I was a kid. Plus, fast and easy is an important word in my family dictionary! Lol With 4 kids I don’t have time to do things that take too long so these Halloween recipes are just perfect and frugal too!
How to make Kellogg’s Rice Krispy Ghosts:
- Kellogg’s Rice Krispy Cereal
- Bag of Marshmallows
- Butter
- White Icing or Wilton Candy Melts to dip
- Tiny amount of black icing for eyes & moth
- Optional: Treat bags (to take them to a school party etc)
Rice Krispies
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
- OR
- 4 cups Kraft marshmallows
- 6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal
Directions
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Stir in food coloring (if desired). Remove from heat.
2. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using butter spatula or your hand coated with a little butter or coconut oil & press mixture into popsicle molds with a light coating of cooking spray, butter or coconut oil. After they’ve cooled a little you can add your candy sticks or wait until the end (I think it’s easier to add while they’re in the mold)
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.
After you’ve removed th e treats from the mold now either use icing or melt Wilton candy melts (white) dip and let set until dry. Add eyes and mouth for “ghost” effect. Plastic candy wrap (optional) makes them easier to transport. Be SURE that they are completely dry before wrapping.
