This morning, I found my daughter gazing through one of our Disney photo albums at pictures we had taken of the Walt Disney Princesses during our annual trip. While all Walt Disney characters are special, I think most little girls want to meet the princesses, and Disney certainly does a great job making it possible. Disney princess dining is awesome! From meet & greets throughout the parks, to meals centered around the princesses, everyone is sure to enjoy seeing some Disney royalty.
Did you know there are several places to dine at Walt Disney World where you can have one-on-one time with different princesses during your meal? I was talking recently about my Disney Budget Travel Series and a friend mentioned how much they enjoy meals with the characters. It is a great way to have more personal time for photos and autographs than the typical meet and greet allows for.
My friend mentioned that her family always has dinner at 1900 Park Fare, located in the Grand Floridian. I had previously looked into this particular restaurant, since my family had never eaten there. I learned it is served buffet-style, and at dinner, Cinderella and Prince Charming welcome you to their feast, along with the Wicked Stepmother and Stepsisters. Apparently, the Stepsisters can be pretty amusing, often finding teenage boys to dance with, much to the amusement of their little sisters! The food gets great reviews, both from my friend and online, so it is definitely going on our list for the next trip.
Epcot also hosts a meal featuring the princesses, at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Norway. On our family trip there a couple of years ago, we had breakfast with Belle, Ariel, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty. I like that you receive a free photo package with one of the princesses. The meal is mostly Norwegian fare, so be sure to take a look at the Disney menu options. Before planning this meal in case of any picky eaters in your family. We like to have breakfast there as it is a bit more traditional food-wise, but also it allows us to get into the park before it is open to the general public. We try to time our dining reservation so that we are finishing up as World Showcase is opening; This is a great way to beat the crowds if you hit Walt Disney World during a peak season.
How’s this for a grand dining room? Cinderella’s Royal Table Probably the most sought-after dining reservations in the entire kingdom are those inside the castle itself. Cinderella’s Royal Table offers a once in a lifetime meal, where many little girls dress like their favorite princess to dine in style. This option does run pricier than the others mentioned, but for a true Disney Princess fanatic, this would be a fabulous way to celebrate a special occasion.
All this talk about dining at Walt Disney World makes me long for a meal with a few special princesses…I know our family will be looking forward to seeing them on our next trip! ☺
