Well, the magic of Disney just keeps going… I was blessed to interview Rance Czermak, the actor who portrays Prince Charming in Disney Live! Mickey & Minnie’s Doorway To Magic – Amazing person that began performing at age 8!
Rance started with a love of story telling through song, dance, words, and costumes. Playing dress up is the best doorway for creativity and he embraced that by majoring in costume design and theater in college. After working at Walt Disney World in Orlando an opportunity became available and a friend invited him to audition for Disney Live. He’s a real life inspiration having worked on the costumes and in the cast of CATS and when you speak with him his kind nature and love of the arts shines through. Here is a man following his stage dreams sharing how his heart is touched when he “blows a kiss to a girl in the audience of a Disney Live show and he sees her excitement.”
Mr. Czermak says that he sees himself traveling in the future. I was sure to inquire about his busy schedule touring for Disney Live and he said that he does have plenty of time to tour cities because most of the performances are weekends giving him time during the week for travel, touring, exercise and fun. What a life huh!!!!!
To prep for a performance of Disney Live he likes to stretch and and do some warm ups and that even when sick…. the show must go on! Now, that is dedication! For a Disney Live tour, he’ll be on the road for about 6 months from approximately October to the middle of April and then he’ll have some time off before moving on to his next adventure.
Rance says traveling with your Disney Live tour team is a like being in a tight knit family – “we all stick together,” which completely makes sense to me. They’ve got to trust each other, work together, and I imagine if they didn’t get along with one another it would be hard to pull off what I call that energy, that magic of a live Disney performance that leaves every child and adult with a big smile!
