Well with Thanksgiving just around the corner it’s time we start looking at Turkey prices.
ACME has their Shady Brook Farms basted frozen turkey on sale for just 59¢ a pound. Every year I purchase 5 turkeys when they are at their rock bottom lowest price which happens to be RIGHT NOW! I use them as such;
- 1) Thanksgiving
- 2) Christmas
- 3) January
- 4) February
- 5) March
The turkey in January February and March heats my house while it’s cooking and is perfect for soups and such after a big meal when it’s cold outside. I make turkey pot pie, turkey soup, turkey and rice pot pie and so many more dishes. I’ve followed the price of groceries for years (I’m a frugal living expert) and there is no cheaper time to purchase turkey than during the Thanksgiving season so – STOCK up! ☺
Above you’ll see the image of my bacon wrapped turkey. I’m famous for my turkey (within my family that is ☺) Oh, and catch me on Fox Baltimore news for my segment on what you can do with leftover Thanksgiving turkey! Happy holidays!
Note: There is a limit of 1 Turkey with $25 purchase so you’ll have to ask your hubby, mom etc to help with the stock up but it’s well worth it! ☺

I purchased my 1st turkey yesterday – thanks for posting about the price and the idea of 5. I don’t think 5 will fit in my freezer but I’m going to buy 4 this season

Always try to get at least two. Depending on freezer space. This year I want to get three. First Christian Church of Canton is expecting to feed 10,000 for Thanksgiving and accepts turkeys the day before to help out. Just roasted – not stuffed or carved.
