We have one that we paid $14.99 for 3 years ago and we hatch new butterflies each spring and again during the summer. Most people don’t know it, but when the butterflies hatch and dry their wings, they are very tame and will sit on your finger! When we went to release them one year, my son waited for 6 minutes for 1 butterfly to finally leave his shoulder. This is a great family event and a wonderful science experiment! We also get praying mantis cocoons each year. They are good for your yard and garden. My kids still wake up every day and run to see if they’ve hatched yet. We’re big on science and nature in our family and these are 2 must have items. We just order new cocoons each year for a tiny nominal fee.
