Ok – so do you wanna make your own Halloween props? Homemade props are fun and relatively easy and VERY unique. That is what makes them so cool! Well I want to show you how I made these squash people with my daughters Mr. Potato Head parts.
I have to tell you that these were REALLY fun to make and super easy. Best of all… these homemade Halloween props are CHEAP. If you mess up you can just make another one and you can engage kids in these. You don’t need any specific kind of squash. You can you acorn squash, a gourd, yellow squash, a zucchini – whatever you like for your homemade props for Halloween.
So we started with a good pumpkin carving tool kit and carved out a spot for the drakula teeth. I just held the teeth up to the quash and with a pen I made a light print so I knew how large to carve out the mouth.
Next I inserted the fake teeth. Then I used my daughter’s Mr. Potato Head and added eyes to my squash creatures. These were so much fun to make with the kids and really easy & cheap! Get creative and have fun with your props because it will make your party or gathering so much more festive with these squash people. Plus, its a great original conversation piece.
