This homemade Halloween prop was super cheap to make and totally fun! A fake boarded up house adds a fun festive Halloween mood to your home and neighborhood. Perfect for a Halloween party or just to scare the neighbor kids! Lol!
Plus, what is really fun about this homemade prop is that my 5 year old daughter helped with every part. It’s always fun to include your family and making your own props is no exception. This prop costs about $1.50 to make (per window). That is makes for some cheap homemade Halloween props this year!
Directions for Fake Boarded up House Halloween Prop:
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Brown paint
- Fake Spider as seen in image (optional)
1)Cut your cardboard the shape & size of a board (you may wanna measure your window to see how large or small you need them)
2) Notch out the ends to look like weathered old wood
3) Paint with brown paint going all in long vertical direction, dry
4) Add a little darker brownish-black paint going lengthwise to give a textured wood look
5) Attach over windows (I used duck tape)
6) Add spiders (as seen in image above) optional for spooky effect (I used a hot glue gun to add mine before handing but this is optional)
