Everyone loves a nice refreshing treat on a hot day….. especially kids! And, there’s just nothing better than an ice cream cone with some fresh dipped ice cream on top! Yum! Right now there’s a coupon available, a rare coupon, for Joy Ice Cream cones here. The coupon is for 55¢ off. This coupon will be doubled at many grocery stores (like ACME, Safeway and Giant) making for a great deal! And here’s the great recipe I told you about for the homemade ice cream drumsticks. A great frozen treat on a hot summer day! Pin it for inspiration! (PINTEREST)
These are really easy (even though they look hard)!
Pick your favorite ice cream to fill your cone.
Now, remember that drumsticks have chocolate in the cones to keep the ice cream from melting out as you eat them so I’d suggest a little Magic Shell or any other shell topping. Just pour a little in your cone, set it in the freezer about 2 minutes and the chocolate shell will set. Then you can get going with your homemade drumsticks! Its time to make food fun!
After you fill the cone with your favorite ice cream let it set. Keep your freezer low and don’t open it. You don’t want soft ice cream!
Once the cone has frozen up again, did into a shell topping (like Magic Shell) or any ice cream shell topping of your choice. Add nuts if desired!
Set up freezer with a holder to support ice cream cones, or place 8 narrow glasses inside that can support the cones.
Chill at least 1-2 hours before serving. Store in airtight bags. If you want to save for another day and time
