State Fair Lineup 2016 Guide to ALL State Fairs – The fair is right around the corner and that means lots of family fun time. Our family loves the fair! However, fairs can add up super quickly. If your family is heading to the fair this summer, check out how you can have fun and save money at the fair.
#1. Go on a free day: Fairs are always more fun when you can get free admission. Most fairs offer at least one free day of fair fun, so take advantage of it. If you can get into the fair for free, you will be able to afford more activities while you are there.
#2. Enjoy the free stuff first: Sometimes it’s hard to pay for the expensive items like the food and rides. Try enjoying the free stuff at the fair before you go spending the big bucks on everything else. It’s always super nice to be able to enjoy the free stuff and then move onto the more expensive stuff. It’s almost like you appreciate the free events more that way. Also, you have less time to waste away your money that way.
#3. Decide on a limit: There is always a ton of stuff to do at the fair, but all of that adds up quickly money wise. Before you even walk into the fair, make sure you know what is available. You don’t want to limit fun, but you can put a limit on how many rides everyone rides and so on.
#4. Eat a meal before you go: Another great way you can save money is by eating a full meal before you go. It can get expensive really quickly trying to feed everyone a full meal. Save a little money on your trip to the fair by eating a full meal before you go. You won’t regret that decision and neither will your wallet.
#5. Bring bottled water with you: It gets hot at those county fairs, make sure you bring water with you. If you don’t, you’ll easily be paying $2-$3 a bottle, which can add up quickly when there are several people in your family. You can’t bring in a cooler, but you can add a few bottles of water to your stroller or purse before going in.
#6. Talk to Your Kids Ahead of Time: With tons of fun happening all over if your kids are like mine, they want to do everything and eat everything. Give your kids a choice of one snack and decide on 3-5 rides for each child. If your kids know the rules before they go in, this will not only help you save but keep embarrassing behavior down.
