The Verde Canyon railroad review – Clarkdale, Arizona. On our family trip in Sedona Arizona, we climbed aboard a vintage railroad and took a 40 mile wilderness train ride through the picturesque Verde Canyon. It was breathtaking!!! I’m so glad we made time on our last day of our 8 day Sedona Arizona vacation to take this train ride!
Gliding past old historic mining sites, truly wondrous geological formations and even the man-made cliff dwellings of the native Indians; we watched for Wildlife visits from bald eagles to antelopes romping through the valley.
For part of the trip, we chose to ride in the open-air passenger rail car so we could see the panoramic view of this beautiful untouched wilderness. I had no idea open air rail cars even existed until that day!
As parents, it gave us the perfect opportunity to sneak in a little education while the kids were mesmerized (wonderful since we are a home school family). It was sooo perfect!
The expansive view was so amazing we were spellbound as we stood along the edge of the rail car feeling like our little family was part of this beautiful wonder in our big world. I highly recommend you take the time for this wonderful experience and make some lasting memories for your family, as you ride the wilderness railroad through the beautiful Verde Canyon. Spectacular!
